Rumble in the Jungle

This post originally published on a previously-owned blog and was imported here to simplify my life. Please excuse any confusion due to this merge. I hope you enjoy the content!

We spent about 10 days in Puerto Maldonado. It was one tough week, emotionally and physically. I hope never to return to the jungle. 😉 The heat really got to me this time and I spent most of my time in the hotel, with a bit of time in the airless sweaty internet café across the street (a lot of my job is on the computer). Mike was also pretty worn out, the team is worn out. It’s apparent that we’ve been going without ceasing. However, the team of short-term volunteers was a great group – mostly teenagers with 3 youth leaders. They had great flexible spirits and impacted a lot of lives with the events during the week. The staff at the hotel and restaurant are crazy and “backwards” in everything they do, but that’s part of the fun, right? Above all, 279 decisions were made for Christ! Now THAT is worth the sweat and tears!!
