That is the big question of the week. Many of you know by now that Mike has been asked to step into a new position with Extreme. His new title, if he chose to accept it, would be Operations Officer and he would work side by side with our director in managing all the day-to-day operations throughout our organization. With this position comes a relocation. A big relocation.
Some of you have been praying for us and I sincerely thank you for that. It’s been a tough last several weeks just waiting on God’s answer. Let’s just say it became abundantly clear last weekend that we were supposed to GO and we will be relocating to South America to work at Extreme’s headquarters.
You can imagine this comes with a lot of emotions. Having to pack up our lives and sell all our belongings for the 3rd time since we were married is crazy!! But there is an inexplicable peace about this decision, something impossible to explain to those who have not yet felt it. Life would not be right if we didn’t follow this call.
I always had this feeling we would end up back on the field. Our time living in Peru seemed (well, was) cut short with Mike’s medical adventure and many of you are wondering about that…he is completely cleared to travel, has been traveling, and we will be relocating to a city where health care is great. We (and his doctors) have very little concern about living outside the States with his condition.
What will I be doing once we move, you ask? The same thing! I can bring my accounting job anywhere as long as I have internet…and preferably a second screen. 🙂
Right now, it appears that we will be moving no earlier than January 2013. A more definite timeline will emerge soon as plans are solidified and contracts are signed.
More info to come…on the new vision/expansion of Extreme…on our actual location…on a lot of things!
