anniversary numero four

This post originally published on a previously-owned blog and was imported here to simplify my life. Please excuse any confusion due to this merge. I hope you enjoy the content!

I’m writing this from Alaska, of which I’ll share about later sometime, but I wanted to finally take a break from all our work & meetings to share a few photos.  A few months ago, we were approaching a bit of a burn out time.  We kept trying to take a day or two off to come up for air, but it kept being overtaken by another obligation. Such is life. 😉  So we decided to plan a weekend for our anniversary.

It was amazing, because once we had it scheduled/reserved/somewhat planned, a little burden lifted off.  We had something relaxing to look forward to and God carried us through those insane couple months just fine.  The coast is easy to get to from Eugene and Mike had never been to Bandon, so we decided to find a place there for a couple nights.  Well, when they found out it was our anniversary they gave us a third night free – sweet!

Besides that cool perk, we enjoyed the comfortable room, the great view and the friendliness of the staff.  Check out the Bandon Beach Motel if you’re looking for a place to stay on the Oregon Coast. 🙂

We walked the beach for quite a while after I felt good enough (oh, I didn’t mention I was quite sick so that was fun *wink*)…and you can see here the difference in clothing.  Mike in shorts and me in so many layers I was walking around like the little brother on A Christmas Story. Okay, maybe not quite…

Anyway, it was a pretty fun weekend.  It went as fast as the four years of our marriage have gone.  I can’t believe all we’ve squeezed into it, but God sure does think we can handle a lot of crazy stuff. 🙂

As I mentioned above, we are in Alaska right now.  We have been fortunate to have several meetings with couples and various groups, mostly concerning raising our personal support but about other things, too.  It’s been awesome to see others catch the vision of our mission.  More on that later…
