Book Review: Would a Worm Go On a Walk? {by Hannah C. Hall}

Love love love this book and so do my kids -- see review on sydneyelizabeth.blogThe combination of Author Hannah C. Hall‘s writing and Bill Bolton‘s illustrations makes this book charmingly captivating for children (and their parents!).

Written in bouncing rhymes, Would a Worm Go on a Walk? asks all sorts of silly questions: “Would a rhino wear a raincoat?”…”Would a turtle drive a truck if she had to get to town?”…and more. Each question is answered with an equally cute explanation.

The quality of work put into this new children’s book is obvious. So many children’s books seem to struggle with consistency in rhymes and fluidity of the stanzas. Not so for this one. It’s plain fun to read aloud.

The funny animal scenarios draw the child in to listen more and more intently, which makes the conclusion of the book more impactful. Once each animal’s habits or activities are established, it goes on to explain how they are that way because God created them that way! And ever more so, you are the way you are because God created you that way.

I love to read this to my toddler and it also seems to grab my 4-month-old’s attention due to its larger size and bright colors. This is a new favorite in the house!
