Book Review: My Great Big God

A toddler Bible book with a unique twist, capturing God's character attributes in a beautiful way.

A toddler Bible book with a unique twist! My Great Big God focuses specifically on character attributes of God. It tells 20 stories in rhyme-form, which is enjoyable for me to read aloud to my kids and they also get a kick out of it. The author specifically chose stories that show the “bigness” of God but also ones that can teach priceless lessons to kiddos.

For example, the story of David & Goliath (from 1 Samuel 17) teaches the child that “My Great Big God makes me Brave!” The Noah & the Ark story teaches that “My Great Big God keeps me Safe!” When Peter walks on water, we learn that God will always help us when we’re scared and when we read the story of the good Samaritan, we learn that our “Great Big God helps us help others!”

The artwork is very well done, I almost want to describe it as “cozy.” It’s attractive and accurate.

Each of the stories also has a Bible reference which is quite handy for the parent or older child who wants to read more. Overall, we love this book!
