Wellness? Hope? Who doesn’t need more of those in their lives?

I’m certain you could use one or both of those today, my friend. (I don’t say “friend” lightly…)

This blog exists not only for a general writing outlet (because something inside of me cannot go for very long without getting words out) but it also exists to encourage. To strengthen. To enlighten. To teach. To challenge.

And all those things happen within the categories of parenting, healthy living, books, sewing, Jesus and other various ways I can share my life with you for your benefit.

I’ve been blogging since 2008. There have been quite a few blogs throughout those years — on ministry, travels, food (yikes) and more, but I’ve quite simplified my web presence. This site encompasses it all.

My husband, Mike, and I were married in October of 2008 and have lived in three different countries together! No one knows me better and no one loves me better. He takes care of our family with wisdom and I’m overwhelmingly grateful for his life.

Mike and I are raising our children to love and follow Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life for everyone who wants Him to be. He’s our Hope.

Our son is three and our daughter is 15 months. They’re pretty much the best little things since sliced bread. ❤

We live in Washington and although I write this during the winter when we are covered in dreary rain all the time, it is one of the prettiest states! Summers are amazing here. Do you love the Pacific Northwest, too?

Personally, I love learning random facts about a person when I’m first getting to know him or her. So here are some!

  1. I spent my 21st birthday at a rest stop.
  2. I once totaled my ex-boyfriend’s mother’s car.
  3. My favorite flowers are tulips.
  4. I love lamps (as opposed to overhead lighting).
  5. I love musicals, particularly anything with Julie Andrews.
  6. My dream dog is a black Giant Schnoodle.

If you’re familiar with StrengthsFinder, my dominant themes are:

  1. Belief
  2. Deliberative
  3. Harmony
  4. Intellection
  5. Empathy
  6. Discipline
  7. Restorative
  8. Connectedness
  9. Input
  10. Responsibility
  11. Command
  12. Learner
